November 29th, 2011 by in Jobs

The latest report on Jobs from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has found the engineering market is still bearing up well, regardless of the very first slide in the amount of permanent jobs in 2 years.
Research from
four hundred recruitment consultancies all over the UK showed that although there was a fall in permanent staff places during October for the very first time in two years, the amount of temporary and contractor vacancies has risen.
A few industries have been struggling however the engineering industry has managed to carry on recruiting. Other sectors which have been performing well are technology, accountancy and also human resources, however govt spending cuts have triggered losses in the health care industry which has dragged down the jobs market as a whole.

sector has also been boosted by the announcement that 1000 new jobs will be created by Jaguar Land Rover at their plant in the West Midlands. This follows a very similar announcement way back in April that saw another 1000 engineering positions created in the area and another 1,500 apprenticeships started up in Halewood in Merseyside.
